What is GATE?
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily assesses a candidate's comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.
It is used for admission to Master's programs and for recruitment in public sector companies. Most students aim to succeed in the GATE exam because it enhances their career prospects and secures a brighter future.
"It is a transformative opportunity for those aspiring to excel in engineering and science. Furthermore, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs)—such as GAIL, Hindustan Petroleum, and Indian Oil—use GATE scores to recruit candidates for distinguished positions."

The GATE scorecard remains valid for three years from the date of announcement of results.

Normalised Marks for Multi-Session Papers
In GATE, for multi-session papers, normalization adjusts variations in question difficulty across sessions. It assumes a similar ability distribution among candidates in all sessions ensured by large candidate numbers and random session allocation.
GATE Score Calculation
For single-session papers, the GATE Score is calculated using the actual marks obtained.
For multi-session papers, the GATE Score is calculated using normalized marks based on raw marks.
The GATE score is calculated using a formula defined by the organizing institute.
